Whew! Made the first run to the grocery stores for Thanksgiving Day supplies. Dh brought them inside to the kitchen floor and I will process on putting away here shortly after I catch my breath...if he puts them away they become 'lost' in places unknown. Think I have everything to make Carrie's carrots and Honchey's rice pudding, Turkey, dressing, yellow potatoes, green beans and mushroom soup, Brussels sprouts (fried in olive oil, salt and pepper is delicious!), marshmallows, karo syrup, etc., three stores worth of shopping. I am tired. Must be time for a nap. Must do some work first, you all take care.

Jan, lots of Dear Jane blocks can be pp'ed. Did you know there's a Dear Hannah too? Lots of applique blocks though and I don't like most of them.

No news here, no fever, almost no pain so I'm ok for now :) I'm still not quilting, just knitting.
The twins are teething ! !
It's getting really cold here, at night temperatures dropped below zero. Last night it was -6 C :(

Anael, good to hear from you and so glad you're feeling better. The pics of "our" grands is adorable--they always bring a smile to my face. I show them to MrJanRn and he gets a kick out of them, too. He's followed the twins progress along with us. Mick has grown so much!

Ggal, thanks for the link to the applique site. I (sort of) like needle-turn. I got some mylar sheets to make the templates and I did okay with that method in the past. May try the new method, too. Or just skip all the applique blocks!

Janie--Great to see that your MB arrived before you left again. :)

Jan--Happy to help you realize you don't *have to* do applique, but can still do DJ without too much stress!

I get to spend some time in the clubhouse tomorrow after school...hope to make some progress tying the "crazy quilt" I've been working on. Also need to work on my Dec and Jan MBs (Feb is done).

DDamsel ... oh sure, make me do my own experiments ... I was hoping for some expert advice!!!

CarrieM and JanieW ... great block and me-thinks it's the kind of cheer-me-up that JanieW needed!

CarrieM ... glad to see you are getting some things done in the Clubhouse, despite your shoulder and therapy. Hope you are enjoying your pool therapy and that it does help. Is it this of those "hot" therapy pools?

JanRN ... geesh ... I'm surprised you had not thought of that! :DI hopscotched a lot in FWS and PC, so was a basic assumption on my part for DJ!

Anael ... that's Very Good Healthy news from you! How exciting that the SewGrands are teething ... and to think you are missing out on that! Cccccccccccold here too, about the same as you and thankfully no where near like in JanieW's parts. So keep yourself bundled up and knit away!

QNSue ... groceries already? Am I confused ... I thought your Thanksgiving was not til next weekend?

QuiltE, it is called 'planning ahead'. I had intended to 'check' prices, but the bargains was there, so I got supplies a week early and they will 'chill' out in the new refrigerator until next week. The cranberry-orange relish needs to be made early on, and to thaw out the meat as needed...for each meal the four or five days that they will be here. Off with dh to hold his hand this morning as the dentist will 'chip' off some bone spurs on his gums. Then, if he feels like it, he will drive me to my eye doctor's appointment..this afternoon. Maybe he will say I can quilt!! Everyone take care.

Anael...such good news about you and the Sew Grands. I've really missed you.
DD..yes you have to join the Yahoo group to get the pattern. The pictures of what some of them have already done is inspiring. Maybe we will have to do our own little sew along. I'm not planning to start right away but will be on the lookout for background material.
i decided yesterday that the center in my Ocean Waves wasn't working so last evening mr Froggy and I got ready for the change. It's raining today and I'm not planning to go anywhere so I should get a lot done.

QE--I wouldn't say I am getting much done...I just sit there and look through fabric and patterns some days. The pool is just a regular "lap" pool. I do a variety of arm exercises with my arms/shoulders underwater. I go for my 2nd pool therapy tomorrow...they wanted to give me time to rest between.

QNS--planning ahead is GREAT! I wouldn't want to be shopping next week. I worked at a grocery store in high school and they are *crazy* the couple days before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope you and DH's appts went well today.

Ggal--bummer on having to meet with Mr Froggy, but if you weren't liking what you had you will be glad you changed it in the long run. :)

School time....

I thought I would be smart and download a program from inklingo talked about in another thread on QB; even with repeated emails with Linda, its not working out to my satisfaction. Downloaded two programs $$, Storm at Sea, and design studio where the 'real' pattern is located to download. Pattern for the first is in the second program. Did not realize what problems would enter into the scene in downloading from Canadian site. Solved that. Too many words to try and understand all the problems of reaching the actual pattern in the second one...I like things simple and direct. Even though the original source on QB said she cut out the queen size in one day..I think I will forget this one. All I wanted was the queen sized pattern and directions for cutting out the 12 and /or 16 inch blocks of the Storm at Sea.

I even offered to pay more to her to skip the 80pp book and the 368 pp design book and just go for the five or six pages of pattern....oh, no, I had to go to page such and such to print them off... on a 13 x whatever size that was not the 81/2 x 11 inch size of letter or legal paper (yet she admitted it was regular sized paper she had used)...people all around the globe was successful at following the directions and why wasn't I understanding it....sorry. I did not. Not going to go there any time soon...not even to visit with her and her monkey for $$ I spent. I wish her well, and so glad for her that others understood it, and has used it successfully. I am ready to move on and forget about the whole thing. Too many other projects that need to be finished, don't need another one. I do admire those who do make the Storm at Sea, for it is a lovely quilt. Different folks, different strokes makes the world a delight along life's path of experiences. We are not all the same peas in the pod, and we can be very Thankful, thank you.



Impossible Pie

All the ingredients are mixed together and poured into a pie tin, but when it cooks it forms its own crust with filling This has a coconut vanilla taste like a coconut cream pie

Ingredients

2 cups milk
1 cup shredded coconut
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all purpose flour
8 Tablespoon butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions
Place milk, coconut, eggs, vanilla, flour, butter and sugar in blender. Mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured pie plate. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minute
