I love retreats! The laughter, the games, the food (whether we bring it in or go out) the classes, the charity event, the quilts that git done, & the friendships that form, are just wonderful!

Good morning everyone. I've just been catching up on all the posts. What wonderful interesting lives we are so blessed to have.

I have "locked" myself in the Bat Cave this past week trying to finish up some projects. I'm so envious of everyone's productivity: MiraB and her finished quilts, Anael with all her block projects and beautiful wall hanging; GGal visiting with QBs; Jeanine back from her trip; Bev and her awesome birthday celebration; QE with her bunnies and other projects. Hope Carrie and GrannyQ and QNS and the other PCers are doing well.

It's almost the end of April and I still have some (well most)goals to reach. SYE is coming along, still not 100% sure of the borders. The pieced borders seem too busy but a plain border looks, well, too plain. This week I will make the decision and finish it! I don't work until Friday this week so there should be no excuses (but I'm sure I'll find a few).

Have a great day, ladies, do something you love today!

Hello, everyone! I am back again into the saddle...Wednesday morning appointment with Dr confirmed that the swelling was reduced in my optic nerve...not perfect...but better. It made our day and trip a brighter one...but have lost my camera that recorded the trip...somewhere...maybe in the last Casey's parking lot. So what happened on the bus trip, stays on the bus trip...including all the shop pictures, etc. ...darn it.

Prayers have helped, I believe, and I am so thankful that I can now finish my projects. I see the Dr. again in the middle of May.

We were a part pf five buses that made the same circuit of quilt shops...five in all...they fed us and let us shop for two hours in every shop. The highlight for me was the Quilting on the Square in Holton, Kansas.;and meeting "Mary" there who designed our SYEs blocks. Not only did they help with myi Dear Jane, they had the perfect fabric to finish my PC borders. And I did have fun on the FART ...too many 'things' became my favorite find on the trip. The 'chocolate' drops that melted on our whitle pants before the first stop is history(my fault); the going into the wrong motel room not assigned to us by mistake is forgotten, and trotting off to the 'wrong' shop from bus is forgiven, except they caught the action on film....so have to shop more there so that part of the film will be lost from anyone viewing it...so many memories, so much fun...and back home early makes a bonus day to get unpacked, laundry caught up and fabric to enjoy , and new pattern projects to study.

Celebrate the week, everyday is promising to be a great day.

What a wonderful birthday celebration dublb. Happy Birthday.
Glad the eye news was better this time QuiltingNinaSue.
I managed to make Betty's Delight last night and have posted it on its photo thread. I thought the black web fabric would look good with the sage in this block and I was not disappointed.

Works4me, I took a picture of the 'halloween section' at the Higgingsville Shop just for you..small witches and shoes, etc., I love how you are working your 'design' for PC. The camera is found in bf's car, apparently it ran away like my cats did when DGS was here...guess I over used it. HA Ha.

Happy Birthday, Bev. Enjoy the retreat. Yes,, I loved the laughter of the group trip we were all and comparing the places we had visited separately at different times...lady ahead of me on the bus has been married 65 years..she and her three sisters were on the bus trip. The credit card company man questioned why they were needing 17 rooms for thirty women at the Red Roof Inn...on the trip. Wonder where his mind was???

Yes, Mirabelle, Mr. M will love his quilt...he will know the love you stitched in every block. Love all of you and your progress on every project and your stories....I am addicted to this site, lving every story..l

Good morning to all. A belated birthday wish to you Bev--what a great day for you and now off to retreat. One of the older ladies in my guild has a goal to take in a retreat every month of 2014!

QNS, good news in small doses is always good news. And what a trip you had--I smiled through your whole post, what fun!

Jeanie, back safe and sound after good time with friends. What projects do you have lined up?

Now we know why Jan has been silent....she's getting some quilting done...Way to go. And we haven't heard from mirabelle for a couple of days....guess the BD quilt really went over big :D:D:D

oksewglad 04-27-2014 09:25 AM

Oh w4me I must have been typing while you posted...

All those great colors blended in with the sage webs. This is not going to be a dull quilt!

QNS - what wonderful news on your eye, and what a marvelous trip you had. Sounds like so much fun!

works4me - that quilt is just going to be stunning. It is amazing how the sage background fabrics spiderwebs just jump out at you when you have them all together. WOW!!!

Jan is getting stuff done, not like me!!! I got all the borders on my Bonnie Hunter Mystery Celtic Soltice finished. Yeah! I picked up the white fabric I ran out of in Phoenix when I was there a few weeks ago. I'll get a photo today and post for you all.

I've been in kind of a quilting slump, which is unusual for me. I think all my projects being PP are getting to me. I get bored easily and like to do varied things. I'm so tired of PP. I've only got 8 of the 50 Fab Stars done, and half of the SYE blocks. I keep walking into my sewing room and looking at the Star in progress and walking back out! I think I really like regular piecing so much better! I think I'm going to sandwich Celtic Solstice and have that to quilt so I'll have something other than PP to do.

I still have six UFO's on my list I made in January that need to be done. Four are flimsys that need to be sandwiched and quilted. Two are ones that still need to have the blocks sewn together.
