Jillnjo, I'm just getting caught up on posts. Wow! What a beautiful quilt you have. I'm not a fan of yellow but I love the way you've used it. It ties all your other colors together and adds a spark. I really need to rethink using yellow in my quilts. You have a nice balance of colors in all your blocks and your blocks are done so well. Great job and congrats on finishing. This was a tough one!

Truely an amazing quilt!!! I love the sashing around the individual blocks, I think it adds to the look!

Everyone's quilts are just gorgeous! I am in awe. I completed my first block last night and am using 1930's reproduction fabrics. However, my block is a small 6 1/4" X 6 1/4" so I'm going to rip or either start a new one and aim for 6 1/2" X 6 1/2".

The quilts are beautiful
I am using Doreen Speckman's French Provincial line from many years ago.

txstitcher and gollytwo--show your progress on the FWS block threads. I'm slowly working on mine using Civil War Fabrics. It would be fun to see your blocks.

Congratulations on your first block! You might find that all of your blocks will be that 1/4 inch smaller if there are a lot of seams. That elusive "slightly less than 1/4" seam can really eat up a lot of fabric if it gets a little fat. Sashings can be the equalizer in some cases. Enjoy the journey and show off your handiwork. We love the eye candy when pictures are posted.

Gee it disappeared before I could post a photo of my FWSQ that is 102x108, more than 145 blocks that depicts my childhood memories on the farm to current times, like no contrary wife at first, but there was a contrary husband square that reads 'wild thyme'. Creekside Quilts in Des Moines, Iowa, Jeanie did the quilting work that exceeded my expectations. Loved the support of the QB FWSQ group every week for two years, joined them again on PC trail which is almost done. Backside of quilt:
