Thanks DebbieKT! I have one & a tablet! Neither are in the studio! Guess I should get something set up there, huh? Glad we've got clue #2, now the fun really begins! After I finished off the quilt & got it off the frame I got a call from a friend of mine ordering 3 quilts! 2 Queen & a twin! Luckily, in talking, I already have the twin in inventory & a "kit" made up for it's mate! That one won't take long to do start to finish. The other Queen is going to be custom 100%, but I've got quite a bit of lead time on that one! Now to finish the other 2 customs ahead of this one! With talks of 2 more coming in that are custom also. We're talking design & colors now, so they'll be on the schedule shortly.

Way to go, Irishrose - I used to hate 1/2 sq triangles, too, but practice makes for acceptance!

Come on, coopah, have a glass of wine and then start cutting! It'll ease the pain.

luci4 05-26-2012 12:56 PM

Sounds like fun. I'm in.

ok, went back to my stash, good thing I have spent the last three days organizing !
realized this was going to be a larger quilt so would need extra fabric .....so into the box of large pieces and the bolts......the 3 with pointy leaves will be A,B & C ...... now a little snack and off to the cutting board.

oh, wow ! that photo is larger than life size......sorry

Cindy60545 05-26-2012 01:41 PM

oooh Sunliten! This is going to be gorgeous! Of course, I have no idea what the overall pattern is either, but those colors are outstanding to me!

sustraley 05-26-2012 01:46 PM

I need a glass of iced tea before I head out shopping - oh, open house cookies to bake, too. Club car, here I come.

I'm there. We can talk about the half squares while we chill! I know, Judy...just have to work on attitude!

debquilts2 05-26-2012 02:53 PM

paintmejudy 05-26-2012 02:55 PM

You ARE on the proper page - go to posting one for the first clue. I had also sent you a link for the first page.

Sunliten, you are a gal after my own heart. Beautiful fabrics. Marybeth, you are just too fast. I got A & B cut then had to stop for the baseball game. Will finish tomorrow.

debquilts2 05-26-2012 03:08 PM

Judy can find the second part just not the first part.

Part 1 is just the list of fabrics needed. It is on page 1. Go to top of thread where it lists pages and click on First. It is also on the bottom of this page too.

These really didn't take too long. I also got a pillowcase with a handle made to use for my trip to Ireland a week from tomorrow. I might not get next week's done so soon and certainly not the following 2 weeks clues. I also watched 3 movies while I was working. I mean playing!

Wonder how my post went to this page? hum

PokerDiva 05-26-2012 04:22 PM

Grants Pass is probably about 100 miles from here on the other side of the mountain. We go over to Lake Selmac camping every summer.

I have my 48 HST finished -- decided at the last minute to do it scrappy. Have a couple boxes of 5" squares. Not knowing where we are going with this, I just grabbed some to make a baby quilt. I may have to swap out some of the colors. I promise I will try to post pics tomorrow. Linda in Missouri (where it is hot!!!)

urgodschild2 05-26-2012 08:06 PM

Well I got everything cut and ready to sew. but working on some other quilts so I will finish sewing tomorrow. Maybe, I have to take a friend down to San Diego to the Base shopping place to pick up some meds.

Good Morning ladies.. everyone hst's are looking great. :) I wanted to share a final picture of the first Mystery train ride.. complete. My DD did a wonderful job on the hand quilting and sewing on the binding and it came through the wash just fine. We put a nifty label on the back with our names and the date of the Mystery train departure and arrival at the destination. DD loves it and Im sure she will most likely display it for years... as it has a lot of wonderful memories attached to it of us spending time together. :) :) :) :) Looks like Im going to have time to cut and sew my Hst's today so gonna eat breakfast and get busy with that. Have a wonderful day all. :)

SunlitenSmiles 05-27-2012 05:00 AM

Jen it is magnificent !!!!!

Cindy60545 05-27-2012 05:11 AM

Jen, that is beautiful! I'm sure DD will cherish it forever!

Jenn these are the fabrics that i thought looked like dragons...although do not think that was the designers idea.

DebbieKT 05-27-2012 05:45 AM

ARG! nothing in my stash has enough yardage!! I've done so much applique in the past that my stash consists mostly of 1/4 - 1/2 yd pieces!io

My Walmart has nothing that talks to me in thier limited fabric selection. Only 1 quilt shop within an hour and she is closed for the holiday weekend!

Guesss I'm gonna go scrappy! Will 2 charm packs be enough ?? I've got 2 that compliment each other. At least DH agrees that I need to build my stash better, so it's not all bad

Cindy60545 05-27-2012 06:05 AM

DebbieKT, I know the feeling! When I went shopping my stash I discovered the same thing! Good excuse to go shopping, right? Glad DH agrees!

PokerDiva 05-27-2012 06:18 AM

Ok, I am off to pin one more quilt (that should put me out of pins) then I will start on the mystery. This is the only good thing about sucky weather, I have an excuse to stay in the house and sew.

Well, as usual I jumped on the caboose at the very last minute with my chosen fabrics flying behind me in the wind. Whooo, what a dash that was! My A fabric was a 2 yard piece I bought at Goodwill for $1.99. The other fabrics I found in the stash.

paintmejudy 05-27-2012 06:46 AM

Very pretty fabrics, Caroline.

Does anyone know why all of a sudden we are getting funky picture postings?

I am thinking that it is another unannounced change on the QB to keep us on our toes.LOL It may have to do with saving space on their servers.

we have some resident red tail hawks so havent seen a squirrel anywhere in quite some time and they use to live in the guttering in my garage and chew holes in the rafters of my roof. they were alway scurring around in my attic and we kept patching up the holes they chewed. now no squirrel problems.

the rabbits i am feeding carrots and lettuce. i came home one day and 3 adults were sitting in my driveway having some sort of meeting it looked like. i was thankful they were still around as i was thinking the hawks would have gotten to them also. so they come around everyday looking for their carrots and lettuce but with this early heat, the food dries up quickly. i planted some beets and i hope the rabbits don't eat them before they have time to grow.

about the pictures, Judy

I am quessing it is because the toilet is overflowing in the thread above us

Blame it on Mayhem

Foxflower 05-27-2012 09:01 AM

Observations from the observation deck.....these color combos are awesome. I'm sure the finished product is going to be wonderful.
