I like all of the blocks this month. I haven't even cut out my blocks yet. I guess I need to get cutting tonight. So I can start sewing tomorrow. I still have 10 more days. I did finish an extra block from earlier in the year. I will post pic in a few days.

Great progress.
August isn't over yet. I'll get them done.

Delphina 08-22-2017 03:53 AM

I am still here ladies. I haven’t touched my sewing machine in a month. The kitchen renovation is
just about done and I will have my house back. I do have the table clear now, so that means I can
cut some fabric. I am going to cut my August blocks today.

Went shopping yesterday, bought some Christmas fabric. Great sale on charm packs got some of those
too. What a nice stash I am making lol

Hope everyone is doing well

Thanks Anne, I am mostly happy with how all of the blocks are coming together. I have yards of the blue & black paisley fabric. I had picked it up on clearance years ago to make a rag rug that never happened. Came in handy for this BOM.

WOW, Chasezzz, you can't get them much more perfect than that! Very striking! Everyone's blocks are looking so good! I found another really easy 10" block for an extra block, but don't know if its ok to share it here or not. Probably need permission from our host...

Ok to reply to your message I first click on "Reply with Quote" below your post. It will show up in the space where you usually type. Then type your response, then go to bottom and click on "Reply" to send it. If you reply to this post the way I told you above, it will take out your post that shows here, and replace it with my explanation post. Janet

OK, will do. If you think of it, please send me a PM reminder around that time. With my treatments its hard to remember future stuff like that. They tell me when my treatments are done my normal memory will return. I sure hope so!

Good Morning! Looks like you did it!

Fabric Galore 08-23-2017 03:49 AM

I made the pinwheel block from February and the chain link block for this month yesterday. I hope I can figure out how to post the photos today. I am still having trouble with Windows 10. I have lost my audio on my computer and I have been trying to solve the problem for 2 weeks and nothings seems to work.

Loving all the blocks !!! Have been busy packing. We close on our house Sept. 22. And we have not found a new house yet !!! We want to move so we are half way between our son and our daughter. Our son is buying our house and will let us stay with them until we do. Packing up my sewing room is sad--and making me understand just what a hoarder I am !!!:D

Oksewnsew 08-25-2017 09:24 AM

OHH boy, Twin, those are gorgeous blocks...love the colors. Carrot, that's probably the hardest room to pack, that and the kitchen! Been there, done that. Take it easy and 'carry on'...lolo

Just Jan 08-25-2017 03:20 PM

TWINHARBOR your blocks are gorgeous!

Sauki1 08-27-2017 04:33 AM

Love the blocks Twin...They look like Millefleur :)

tscweaves 08-27-2017 07:47 AM

Twin, those are happy blocks, they made me smile:-)

Twinharbor 08-28-2017 01:54 AM

Thank you everyone for your kind remarks.

Hi everyone! I'm back from our big August adventure to visit family in the Northwest! I did LOTS of sewing at my mom's of quilt tops I had cut out before I left. I made 2 complete tops and 2 additional sets of blocks. Now I'm back at home with a pile of quilts to quilt! :) and catching up on the BOM!

I'm working on my first block (will post shortly). Hopefully will get to the next one later this week, but it might not be until this weekend.

Did anyone else notice that the 'Chain Link' block is 1/2 inch bigger than the others? Mine is 11 inches unfinished and the pattern page says it will finish at 10 1/2? Thought I made a mistake, but seems like that's right! I'm sure I'll figure out something creative to work with it!

Off to cut out the other 2 blocks!

kristijoy 08-29-2017 07:20 AM

OKsewnsew...just wanted to make sure that you knew I wasn't complaining!!! I mainly wanted to check in with everyone. I totally appreciate all the effort you've put in to make this wonderful bee, LOVE all the blocks and thank you profusely for organizing us! Keep up the good work!

This is my chain link block for August and my make-up block from February of the pinwheel. I have more trouble uploading the photos than I do making the blocks. Does anyone else have this problem?

happylab 08-29-2017 09:07 AM

I made the extra block for August. I have the other 2 blocks cut out. I just need to sew them. I'm really working backwards on my blocks this month. I'll post pics when I get the 3 blocks done.

I enjoy seeing everyone's blocks so far. They are all so pretty.

annt59 08-29-2017 11:02 AM

Kristijoy. Love your colors. See # 72 re block size.

Thanks! I found it! I got a bit behind being out of town!

Oksewnsew 08-29-2017 08:07 PM

Thanks Kristi - your blocks are very pretty. My Chain was a little off too, but thot it was me! I just trimmed it down and all measured fine. No one will see it from a galloping horse anyway..lolo Glad you're enjoying the Bee.

JayneW 08-30-2017 05:50 AM

Well, August got away from me... too much playing and remodeling of my sewing room. I'm going to have to go to BOM jail, as I'm heading out of town for a long weekend and won't get to the blocks in time! September it is...

Oksewnsew 08-30-2017 07:09 AM

Well enjoy your weekend - you can save the blocks and play catch up when you return..

Lv2sew2011 08-31-2017 04:06 PM

Long time no see, so I thought I would drop in to see how the blocks are coming along. I still need to do mine but I'm doing a little update here in the sewing room and got stuff scattered everywhere. Your blocks are so great! Loving all the colors. Well, hope you have a happy labor day weekend! I have no idea what we'll be doing most likely nothing. But I hope one of my family members remember me on the 5th I'll be 62. Again have a great weekend!

Lovely blocks everyone! I'm excited to see tomorrow's new blocks.

oksewnsew: Thank you for being a great leader and taking the time to select the blocks or getting other people to select blocks.

My Crazy Ann went together easily the FIRST time! Lol! I didn't catch that 2 of my corner blocks were in the wrong place and I had made one of my half rectangles wrong. Of course, the block doesn't go back together as nicely the 2nd time.

Hello September! Your blocks are posted on a new thread, hope you enjoy them.

dkayemarshall 09-12-2017 07:08 AM

Hello;
Im Kaye Marshall in Grand blanc Mi. I have joined the group and am collecting blocks but NOT for the reason you might think!! I am going to Texas in another week and hope to get some done while there. I Work for my Son-in-Law as Executive Administrator to his Construction Company. Our Office was run out of his house which burned to ground on June 12th. ALL was lost except people and pets. The Office has been relocated in my house and the work load has been astronomical. Recreating all files and documents plus everyday work load to keep the business running. We have been forced to re-asses how we file documents "SCAN AND PUT THEM ON THE CLOUD". :(( :))) I so badly want to be a part of this!!! As soon as I get to Texas I will post some of my previous work and Projects that I'm presently working on (which are on hold) and do my best to get several of the blocks put together. I am looking forward to the much needed rest!!! My sister has always told me when I get too stressed "STOP AND FONDLE MY FABRIC". I've always laughed at that phrase!!! But guess what "IT WORKS":)))))) Very sincerely Kaye Marshall
