SBG - I actually got a notification tonight!!! Yay!!

I got notifications tonight. It is good to hear from ya'll. I have been burying my head in sewing machines to keep from being so sad. I'll keep that up.

So god to hear from everyone. Sorry, Dublb, the little cat died. Fur babies are so heart warming, and so cute to distract us from life itself. My sewing room is almost ready to sew in again. The quilted twins have the best panels in their daily email lately. I had to order one again this morning, 'cause they offered a peacock panel at a low rate. I wanted the ones I found a couple of years ago , maybe it will get me going on more quilting. But have to locate the peacock feathers I seen back then. Guest room is all organized and almost have organized the sewing room. Progress is good. Helped outside yesterday and have another insect bite on my leg; they all love to bite me. Most effective weapon for me is soap....soap the bite and let it dry, forming a 'curst' . At least, its an inexpensive way of killing the itch.

Good to hear from everyone again. Yes, I got notification this morning! Yay!!

Too hot here to do my actual quilting on the 3rd side of my Grassy Creek Mystery. I have it marked with the Washable Crayon Markers, just need to have a couple of cooler days! Then have to mark the borders, and sew the design, to get it completely quilted.

We do not have AC, so when the temps get into the high 80's forget it! We live about 10 miles from the coast, so it usually does not get too hot here, rarely hitting 90, and we get the ocean breezes in the evening that cool it off.

Funny about your notifications! When we switched over to this new board, the admins said there wouldn’t be any notifications like the old site had. I have a ton of subscriptions and never get any notifications. But maybe I have mine set that way.

Im at my kids’ house now in Memphis, spending some time with my granddaughter. She’s two and so much fun now.

This is funny. I didn't get a notification yesterday. LOL
I took DM to the Dr yesterday & she was able to say that she us in no pain now. :) They prescribed PT for her. I'm a happy camper.

Great news that your mother is out of pain, Bev!

I am so sorry I was such a poor host for the sew along. :( The pain in my hand is still not gone and now I have it in my shoulder too...I've had cortisone, PT, and some calcium removed. Going to orthopedic surgeon for my shoulder next Tuesday.

I've gotten a little sewing done....mostly finishing projects I've had started for years that don't take a lot of cutting. Still can't do much pp'ing...too much pressure on my hand too often to do the trimming.

I got a couple of blocks ready to do on the FW Medallion quilt, and hopefully will start my 2 blocks a week again. As I am the only one doing the quilt on that thread, I will just take my time.

Carrie - you really need some help from the Drs. for the problems. I know you have been to many, so hopefully the surgeon can find a solution with your shoulder.

I have done very few of the blocks with PPing. I really do not care for PPing at all. I avoid it if I can! I do not use a rotary cutter with my blocks either. I trace around the shapes, then cut them out with ergonomic scissors. Love the Fiscars ones. I had one that would not stay closed when not in use, it had to have been one of the first ones, probably over 20 years old! I sent them a picture of the scissors and they sent me new ones!

That is good news, JeanieG. I did not know any company would do that.

My brother has decided against any operation, saying his heart was what it was, and he was not replacing the valve in an operation. He has been hearing and knowing about the failure of it all, and has decided the Lord will call him home when it is his time to go. So happy he moved back into the area and we can get together now and then.

Almost got my quilting/sewing room ready to use. I want to look in a couple more containers for special fabric I know is somewhere. I will be sewing as quick as I can. Wanna get some things done, UFOs and current surprises finished. $$$ seem to fly out of my account, but I am going to enjoy the results a little more. So many have completed the whole All Iowa Quilt Shop Hop this year, I am so happy for them. I did not get to a single one, but I have memories of a few shops.
