Anybody else doing the Bitty Blocks from QM? They'll post a new pattern the first of every month for 2015. The blocks will be 3 to 4 inches in size. January's block is Bow Tie. I just finished making 2 of them. They are 3 1/2 inches unfinished. Fun to do, but I think I'd like them all to be the same size. I'm thinking they'll make into a cute doll quilt for Malina for next Christmas.

great fabrics... nice start

daisydebby 01-08-2015 03:40 AM

I checked it out....quilt will be lap/throw size. They'd like you to make a row of the blocks each month. Looks like a good way to do a scrappy and get another quilty gift done by the end of the year. Of course, anyone can do it their own way. Looked interesting, tho....thanks for posting info:)

I also live under a barrel - thanks for the site explaining them - I thought they were strictly a twitter thing, but I see they are getting a much broader use.

QltrSue 01-09-2015 10:28 AM

I've made 12 today. Using Christmas colors. Lots of fun! Hope I can keep up! Will head to the sewing room after lunch to finish the rest. Would be fun to have a little thread to encourage each other.

Please, show us pictures of your blocks! Keep us all inspired! I think I've pretty much convinced myself to make enough for a couple of baby quilts plus Malina's doll quilt. They are easy and fun to do.

Here are mine. They sure are fun to make. Wonder what the next ones will be? I'm kinda going Holiday-look. Guess I'm still in that mode...

These were so much fun to make and a good use of some of the 30's scraps I've had stashed away for years. Can't wait for the next block!

QltrSue 01-14-2015 03:42 AM

Katybob, those blocks are darling! Perfect pattern for 30's prints. There is something so fresh about that look. Good work! I'm excited for the next block, too!

Jennie and Me 01-14-2015 11:39 AM

Beautiful blocks, Katybob. Aren't these fun to do? I need to get some more made. Life just keeps getting in the way. Have to take one of my fur babies back to the vet this afternoon. He hurt his right shoulder a week and a half ago and it isn't any better. Poor baby!

Beebonnet 01-14-2015 05:20 PM

Thanks for the link. I have made 11 bow tie blocks and put them in a plastic bag labeled January. Now can't wait until Feb 2 for the next round. This should be a fun, on going project. I will try to make them all from my growing scrap stash.

gramquilter2 01-15-2015 06:14 AM

Love your blocks QltrSue, they are so nice and bright. KatyBob I am using the same 30's fabric, yours look awesome.
