Hi Quilters:
I get to chose the BOM for Sept. 15. Our sewing group has been asked to make Christmas Socks for our Soldiers in Iraq and wondered if any of you would have any interest in doing that for the Sept. 15 BOM? Christmas socks are the size of an 11 x 8 ich standard sheet of paper. They have a cuff that can be made out of flannel, felt, fur or whatever you want. The organization who sends the socks to the soldiers ask that NO GLITTER be used on the socks but any other kind of decorations one wants to do is fine. If y'all aren't interested in doing this or if it's not in the relm of BOM then I do have another BOM picked out.

For more info about the socks for our soldiers, please go to:

www.marinecorpsfamilyfoundation.org

http://www.marinecorpsfamilyfoundation.org/Santa.html

When you get to the site you'll see a number of topics along the right hand side of the page. One has a cardboard box with a Christmas sock hanging on the edge of the box. Click there and it'll take you to the page that tells all about this project.

The socks need to be at the coordinators by Oct. 15th. Her e-mail address USED to be 4Puddle@comcast.net but I haven't had any luck getting her through this address. She also has a phone number: 1-541-926-3686 - her name is:
C. Pool
Stocking Coordinator
Operation Santa USMC 2008
2753 43rd. Ave. S.E.
Albany, OR 97322

I have made some socks and will post them on the picture page of the BOM. They are quick, easy and you can get about 4 socks out of 2/3 of a yard of fabric.

Thanks guys.

Oh! good, thank you all for being willing to do this. Our soldiers will appreciate it, too.
