Hmmm Thirties prints. I have some of these, too. And a nice white muslin to use with them. I just might have to make two.

Hi to you all
The fabric choices I've seen are just beautiful. You all have such an eye for color. I have a small stash because of space limits. I have a corner of the MB to do "my thing" but I will put a few together in the coming days.
I just hope I can get the pics to load. I have yet to try it. I have heard others have so much trouble that I never even tried. The computer and I are like fire and ice. But I know if I need direction I'm sure to find it here.

OK. Confirmation received from the folks at Quilting on the Square and they said they would post a corrected version.
Here is their reply: "Sue, thank you so much for pointing this out. You are correct. The colors in Sect#13 and Sect#8 are reversed.

We will update the pattern on the website in the next day or two. Glad you are enjoying these blocks. They have been loads of fun to design."

It's an easy fix. It's only the color codes that are wrong.

On the Log Cabin Cones block (design #3 for June)
Section #13 should be color 6
Section #8 should be color 5
They had the colors flipped for these two adjacent blocks

That's it. Simple.

Update ... I just checked at 6:45 PM CDT and they've changed it. So if you downloaded this one prior to now ... go back and re-print, or make manual changes to your copies.

DHMom ... so I think what you are saying, that for those of us that never pay that much attention to the patterns and colour placement, we'll never know the difference!

Honchey ... perhaps this update could be re-posted at the start of the thread for the month when this block is done?

Well ... I think you would notice it if not when you were still piecing, shortly after. The color change flipped the colors on the last log and the border. IOW ... the log wouldn't match it's right angle partner in color.

Yup ... something I would probably miss ...... I tend to look at the pictures, and ignore the directions!
I know .... baaaaaaaaad me!

It does make you wonder if no one else has looked at it to do or has done it wrong; very sharp, DHM, to catch that error and help all of us out, to stay on the right path in making that block. Let's hope that is a the only err in all of their blocks that we are going to be doing.

Played around a bit with some batiks and brights I have. I think you could use lots of fabrics on this quilt and keep to a color scheme. I may change this out and add or take away along the way. I'll show both pictures-one with the bright blue, which I like on my table, but thought it might not be right as I looked at the photo?

Here is the second photo without the bright blue and I would use the cream batik for the background.

Actually jillnjo I'm wondering if that lower blue with the dots might be too gray. Although I like the yellow and rusty red dots in it. JMHO. I can see the bright blue in small doses to add a little punch to the block.
