Spent the morning pin basting this together, and now I am ready to start what I have been itching to do since February - hand quilting. It will be a while till you see the finished product. Thanks to all for your helpful comments and suggestions!

Don't mind friends snooping at all! Here's the secret on the fireplace - it is actually Corian, & is portable (although very heavy). We have moved it to several houses we have lived in, & I just love it. I have an electric log set in it that we light during the winter - my kind of lazy, clean fire, no logs to drag in and no little pieces of bark all over the carpet - just flip a switch. The sampler above it is cross-stitch, which is how I spent the 1980's, until it really started to mess with my eyes and I switched to quilting. And here is the wall-hanging.
