"cheap" vs "inexpensive"

I think they are both only words. To be honest, I see "inexpensive" as a word sellers use if they think their customers might be offended if people thought they were looking for lower priced products. It won't be long before "inexpensive" is devalued as a word and they have to come up with another one. Language is like that.

Some people say they are cheap because they don't want to spend any money.
My mother wasn't cheap, but she was very "resourceful" and I like to think that I can also be resourceful :) Most quilters I know are also resourceful!

Every time I hear the word "cheap" - it's like the sound of fingernails on a blackboard to me.
The connotation to me has always been very negative.
"Inexpensive" - on the other hand, to me, is neutral.

I like to say "It is a good value for the price" or "This is a little better quality....." Yes, I was in commission sales and we never were to knock something....some people really can't afford things and the less expensive item may be the best for them.
