What is the pattern name or did you design it yourself? I have some batiks that would look good in that design and a bunch of jelly rolls that I have been trying to figure out what to do with. I do hope the color blocks start with 2 1/2". Oh well, if they don't, they will when I get through!

The pattern is called Granny's Insanity and is free on the Moda Bake Shop. It does, indeed, use 2 1/2 strips. I used jelly roll for colored and yardage for neutral.... It's a fun pattern...super easy...

Your quilt is beautiful & such nice colors. Thanks for sharing the picture with us. I keep going back & re-reading your post about how excited & happy he was to receive the quilt. Such an uplifting story!
