I took a feminism class last semester I wish I would have had this! It would have been a good discussion topic! LOL...I feel so fortunate that I was born a woman in America in the 1970's because I have never had to experience this kind of advise....in some ways.
However , I still believe prejudice runs rampant whether you are a woman, african american, asian, disabled..whatever! Someone can supress you for any reason...believe me they will..even a man quilter!

But at least we are aware of it.....Just thinking about waiting to put face cream and rollers on because it may be shocking to my husband  ..is it not shocking to us that we may be subjected to some of the things they do

I'm with you! I have not owned rollers since the 80's when big hair was IN. Of course, even then I was too lazy to get up and do it every day. That 7:00 a.m. school bus pick-up stopped me from looking good.

I may start a fight here but I think that the reason women have been oppressed for so long is that men are afraid of us - after all, we can do everything they do (except pee standing up but who cares about that!) AND we can reproduce! :D
YOU said IT SISTA!

I actually wrote a paper for my feminism class ...not only do men oppress us but I also think some women oppress us...I don't think it is consciously but I think some of us think that we are not good enough NOT to be opressed...so we are paying penance for something....I think across all people we need to be loved and appreciated just for being and not what we are ..gender, heritage whatever....
