I heard about TV while still in my teens, and visited a "rich" school friend just to see what it was all about. There was Dad in his chair nearest the TV, which was a big box in a pretty wooden chest, and the kids had to sit where the grown ups did not, and Daddy got to choose ALL the TV shows, and I think there were 2 channels at least.
We got to eat cookies and milk on prettily decorated metal trays, and all us kids had to clean up everything, missing big chunks of the programs, but the grownups didn't give a hoot about that, kids were supposed to do what the adults said.
I was in my 20s before I had one of my own, and could watch it most of the time, if and when I had the time.

LOL... I loved it!!!
Funny thing happened today. I needed to look something up on the computer. I remember saying something like "I need the Google" to which, my 5 yr old responded.... "Don't use my computer" He was playing PBS kids with his brother. :roflmbo:
