That's all my mom made hers out of. Ohio star, Log Cabin and several others. They last longer than the threads holding them together.

Yes, I am sure it will outlast me too. I have been wanting to put several quilts together for members of my family. I probably have enough garments for 10 or 12 large quilts. I have received The info that I asked for and I thank everyone for their comments. I'm gonna get busy and use up these scraps that I have already cut tonight.

I made 2 queen size ones using 5" squares in the 70's. I have had 1 more cut out and ready to piece for at least 30 years. The first one I use a sheet blanket, & the 2nd one, I used a sheet. I have rebacked both of them. The double knit holds up forever. My 39 year old daughter took it every where, - to camp, sleep overs, her honeymoon, and weekend vacations. She is waiting for me to reback it again. That was my first quilt and I still need to get a pic of it. -- I did use a thin poly batting in them, which has nearly disinagrated.

I can't imagine someone not liking it for a quilt. I could understand someone younger that perhaps never wore polyester back in the days when it was popular.
