I've never been on a cruise or to Alaska but I have to tell you that I am green with envy. Have a great time!

I am going on my first cruise also Alaska, but I am coming back on the ship, in July. Hope you are as excited as I am! I watch the weather every day to pick out clothes. I am packed and ready to go now.

I live on the Kenai Peninsula and it has been a rainy year. The breeze (wind) also makes t feel cooler. Pack a light jacket and a rain poncho--something with a hood. It is warmer further north but Anchorage has also been rainy. You can expect rain the Southeast towns--Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Ketchikan, Sitka, etc. We do eat lots of ice cream though.

Just remember not to pack your Ulu knife in your carry on. Had to leave mine at the airport because I made this mistake and didn't have time to mail it home!

What a great idea!!

We were fortunate in July 2000 we had beautiful weather every day. We wore shorts some days, but had our raincoats that were nice and warm on the windy cooler evenings.

I cruised the inside passage in 2015, we stopped at Ketchikan, Skagway, and Juneau, it was unseasonably warm and we were in shorts the whole time off board. Heavy rain in Skagway but still warm, on board the ship I wore yoga pants and t shirts, with a light soft shell jacket when windy, enjoy it's a fabulous trip. The quilt shops are amazing.

Did this for an European trip. Plenty of room to bring home souvenirs.

We have made three trips to Alaska and found the weather pleasant even in September. So just pack comfortable clothes and jacket and good walking shoes. The little quilt shop in Skagway had the most wonderful helpers. They allowed me to take photos of the quilts on display too. The train trips are fun up to the Yukon, small planes flying through the mountains are exciting, and hiking with the rangers in the parks are amazing. So much to see and experience. ENJOY!
