My nephew is in the business of fixing computers, and about a month ago he had me download the free version of Malwarebytes to get rid of some of the adware. Here is the address. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and you do not need to pay for it. As he told me, he hasn't paid for anything in years. It's all free here on the internet.

I have learned the same thing. NO NEED to buy expensive antivirus and have to keep renewing it every year. I have so many friend that have gotten viruses and trogans and other stuff. They pay for anti virus. I don't!!! I am on the computer a lot and I do not worry about it!!! If you do get a virus a lot of places you take it to just download the free removal tool and charge you a big fee!!

Are you using Internet Explorer? Ditch it for Firefox or Google Chrome. Besides that both of those have amazing ad blockers (I never see ads!), IE has some security holes where viruses can get onto your computer just by using IE. DH is an IT manager, so I get to hear all the time about how horrible IE is for letting stuff in.

To change the subject, Does anyone know how to delete the "Ask" toolbar at the top of the page? Last night while hunting for free games for my grandsons, it attached itself to my computer. I went to Add/Remove programs and removed it, but it forgot to remove the toolbar and I cannot get rid of it.
