To get rid of AdAware, you should do a combination of MalwareBytes (which has been suggested before, so woo!), and also Spybot. Spybot will find the malware and the adwares, and if it can't delete them it will at least give you the name so you can look up other methods. It also allows you to immunize your browsers by blocking those pesky bugs before they get a chance to infect your computer, which is a lifesaver!

I changed yesterday from IE to Firefox. No pop up! Should I still download a malware program and do a scan? Does seem strange that we all seem to be in one general area - New England and used IE.

Have never seen it. Are you all using Windows? I have a Mac and usually do internet on the Mac operating system, Snow Leopard, but have dual processor so I have Windows XP installed also. Since that is a MicroSoft product, I run a program called Security Essentials or "something" Essentials. Never have seen it on the Windows side either. My Pfaff embroidery machine won't talk with a Mac, so I have to have Windows in order to download designs. I know, way off subject, but no I have not seen this pop up.

I've never had it. Isn't there something on your computer that you can turn the pop ups off? I know sometimes I have to turn my on to get certain things.

We switched to AVG. We don't get it anymore. (Knock on wood)
