I do aerobic exercises every day, walk at least three miles a day (weather permitting) and quilt

I am both a wannabe and a used-to-be runner. Learned earlier this year that my r knee has osteoarthritis and I have to lose 40# before I try again.

Wish I could burn as many calories quilting as I did running! Don't 'spose there is a weight-loss-while-you-quilt-challenge for the new year?

I've never been a runner, but I do go to Curves 3-4 times a week and in the nicer weather I walk. I'll be 70 in a few weeks and I refuse to get "old"!

I used to run a lot, then changed to a combination of running, biking, walking and weight training six days a week for years. About 2 years ago, I got a huge new job and just didn't have time. I am just now feeling like I am getting my head above water in this new position and have most of the right people in place to take some of the burden off me, so it's back to the gym for me.

Once I'm in the habit, I'm pretty faithful to my routine.

I'm just learning how to quilt sitting still; can't imagine doing it running. :P

Having the finess room right at work is a huge benefit for me. I work out 1 hour every day - though with arthritis in my spine and bursitis in my hip, I stick to the arc trainer for 40 minutes then the bike for 20. The PE teachers say that I am an inspiration to the students - many of whom I could be grandmother to - but they just see an old lady trying to be young.

LOL did for a while here ok to the Post Office and back, not far it's a real little town, just try to pick the time of day when it's quiet, and tho your probibly not suppose to ride towards traffic, do so, you know when to head towards the side, I wanna see who's going to hit me :), after a while regulars will get used to seeing you and watch out for the one on the bike. :)

Hi, I quilt, embroider, and run. Started walking several years ago before I turned fifty because I had noticed a lot of my friends {and me} were adding a little padding to our figures. I did not want to go there so began to walk daily which turned into a run & walk. I have been running 5 miles and walking 3, six days a week. I have a treadmill because hubby doesn't like me running in the neighborhood alone, early in the A.M. I like it, but sometimes it gets to be a drag. Gets me going though!
