    Anybody using Pinterest?

And if so, what are you "pinning"?

One of my co-workers told me that it's "the latest thing" and so it's time to learn what it's all about.

I keep hearing about it & how awesome it is but I have yet to look at it. All I need is another "addiction"... LOL!

I have one setup and it's lot's of fun you "pin" whatever interests you have, I've got a board for quilting, food, clothes, hobbies. Keepsake Quilting, Fons and Porter and McCall's quilting all have boards on there that I follow. I'm not on there every day like I am with the QB but it's fun to see all the different things that people post.

I do not need another addiction to eat up my time. Quilting and quiltingboard are plenty for me.

I like Pinterest, I use it as a visual bookmarking tool. I pin things like recipes and quilt tutorials that I want to come back to later.

    Here is mine - http://pinterest.com/treasureit/

My daughter and I were trying to decide on a quilt for her next son (soon to arrive) and so we both pinned lots of boy quilts until we agreed on one. That was a lot of fun!

This is how I use it as well. I've begun the early planning stages for a party for my son this summer so I have a board for party ideas for toddlers and recipes and stuff like that.

The thing that I love the most about it is that if things are pinned properly, credit is given and you know EXACTLY what it was you were looking at when you were on that particular site. I also give a little description at the bottom because sometimes even if you pin a good link, they can still change. This way if the site has just been rearranged I can usually still find the item that I want to go back to.

There have been some recent discussions of it on this board...you might do a search on "pinterest."

I do but quilting is all I have used it for so far. My DD loves it and had me to join. I just spend most of my computer time here.

It is much faster if someone sends you an invitation. If you would like one, send me a private message with your email address and I will send you an invitation.

I go into it every day.....fascinating. I look at recipes, arts and crafts, and gardening. I pin to my board then my daughter goes in and looks at what I've pinned......she tries the recipes I like.

I looked into it and decided against it. We in this country are always protective of our right to privacy and justifiably so. I decided I do not wish to do that on an international forum. My identity has been stolen once.

Everyone has a right to protect his or her privacy that is true. If you don't pin any of your own personal photos or information on the site then there is no potential for privacy invasion. I personally do not put my quilts or personal photos on Pinterest. I have, however, posted photos on this site with the awareness that anyone could repost the image.

Can not get into facebook, but Pinterest has me hooked. I go there at least once a day. I use it as a tool to learn about the world around me. I am set up as Highlandangel. I enjoy the travel sites, hobbies/crafts sites and the history sites, with a touch of others whenever the whim hits me. It supplements this quilting board and gets me out from behind a book which is my current hobby (love to read - to much).

I love pinterest...it is my relaxing "happy" time in the evenings and sometimes other times of day. I use it for pinning quilting and recipes, but then other things I like...such as sunsets, sheep, colors, sunflowers, etc.
    mine is ~http://pinterest.com/patchsamkim

Pilgrim...best way to sign up for pinterest is to have someone send you an invite. Once a member, you can repin from other boards, and you will get a "pinit" icon you can put on your toolbar that allows you to pin from any site you are on, unless they don't allow it. If you want an invite, PM me.
