It's 42 degrees in Minnesota tonight. All my flowers are dying. There is a frost warning out! Yikes! It was just hotter than hot here! Snow is right around the corner!

No, don't do this till spring, as the dead stuff somewhat protects the plants in a bad winter but last was 2nd bad one and did lose 30-40 perennials/shrubs/trees,but have started to dry basil/dill/tarragon etc.

I spent the weekend and better part of this afternoon getting everything put away. We closed our pool up this past weekend, wow where did our summer go! I couldn't believe it I went into Costco (haven't been in a while) the Christmas trees are up and decorated darn near fell over! The Christmas stuff is ahead of the Halloween stuff were not even done with summer yet.

I meant to plant a garden this year BUT that didn't happen. I will plot where to set up a garden next year. I am ready to grow my own stuff. :)

I've got a question about the heat and drought damaged shrubs and rose bushes. I don't know if they are totally dead or if they may come back from the roots, but the branches above the ground are dry, brown and brittle. Normally we don't prune roses and shrubs until the month of January when they start to grow for spring. It looks to me like I might as well cut off everything that is brown now as I can get to it. What do you think?
