My Mother's Mother used to do Pine needle baskets, using the very long pine needles and raffia-like straw or waxed cording. She also incorporated slices of nut shells as decorative elements on the handles.
She even made a clock, and a large round basket with a lid that I use as a sewing basket.

Basket weaving is on my to learn list. I have all kinds of sites saved so when I get all the vintage quilt repaired, that is what I am going to learn. Can you show us your sewing basket? I love all things Native American so I thought basket weaving would be a great decor item.

Would love to see the pine needle baskets....I wouldn't mind having a try at using some of the massive amounts I have at the back of our land. Currently I am using them as mulch.

I love those painted rocks.
I've always said someday I'll learn to do that but so far I haven't had time.
P.S. I have the same fabric on my furniture.
