There is just no way I can say there was one BEST thing I EVER ate. I narrowed it down to savory roast beef, sugar-sweet fresh fruit (I couldn't choose among all my favorites) or creamy Haagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream - and then I remembered ice cold fresh-squeezed orange juice... nope, sorry, can't choose just one.

This is really hard! But I have to say that after I gave birth to my fourth child...I was starving and they brought me banana cake...I ate it so fast..but I thought at the time it was the best thing I had every eaten in my whole life! LOL. Hospital food? Who knew?

Other than that?? I would say watermelon on a hot day

or clam chowder on a cold day

or fresh baked rolls?

Visiting Montreal, we were being treated at a wonderful little restaurant with lots of old world charm and different wine with each course ... the finale was a creme brule selection - four gorgeous little cups with different flavours - vanilla bean, berry, hazelnut and chocolate. Glorious!

Svicova... Or rather, Pickled beef. It's rump roast marinated in vinegar and veggies. Also some spices to marinate it. It is then served with a white gravy made of pickling juices and sour cream. Bread dumplings are a must with this dish. You can usually find this served at Bohemian (Czech) Restaurants. Tastes fantastic... more fantastic than it sounds!!!
