I am, too! So awful, it's the only bookstore in reach for me (besides B&N, where they don't appear to know how to alphabetize anything) and I go there at least once a week.

I stopped by one today. Most things were only 10% off but the lines were crazy! If half of those people would've bought things before it would still be in business.

If you want to buy books, go sooner rather than waiting for deeper discounts. Those books go fast, and they don't care much about keeping the shelves in order, so it quickly becomes very hard to find the books you're looking for. (I learned this when the Borders by where I was living closed last year - whenever the first round of closings was.

It really hurts me to see them close. I shopped at the original store in Ann Arbor, Michigan back in the '70s, before it became a chain. It was such a wonderful store...

I am sad, also. I was surprised, as our local store was busy A LOT. But since they are all closing, guess that didn't make a difference. :(

It is very sad, and what is worse is all those people out of jobs! I hope they find good replacement jobs and do not have to hunt for long...

We have one, I went in once, and was shocked to find all the books selling at list price. I have been shopping online for too long. Why would anyone pay full price when Amazon has it for much less and it gets delivered right to your house?
