I'm working on a hotpad for my order that goes up to Kalona tomarrow. I put my htpds together face to face with batting in the middle and then turn them rt side out. I have used the tip of my little scissors to poke out the corners for over 10 yrs. I KNOW how to not poke through the fabric!!!!! I thought! So I turn this hotpad poke out 3 corners by putting the tip into the bulk of the seam. But on the 4th one you guessed it the tip slid into the back fabric and I had a nice hole. No problem I tamp down the frayed edge. *gritting my teeth* and I set it up to sew the finish seam over it to hold down the raw edges and my needle bends and breaks!!! And the phone rings!!! at the same time!!!!

Take me away Calgon!!!!!!

Ok I have vented and then phone call was from the friend who cuts the templates for me so talking to him I got under control again!!! :hunf: :hunf: :hunf:

I'm good now! Back to the fray!! Now where are those needles?

Poor Rhonda, more haste, less speed. Hope you find the needles.

Sometimes things happen and you just need to vent. My dishwasher had water comming out of it and all over the floor. After grabbing some towels and getting it cleaned up- and then putting all the towels in the washer, I called a friend on the phone.

Sometimes it is the thing we do over and over again that causes us the biggest problem.

How frustrating. Isn't that always the way it goes.

Rhonda.....
Take a deep breath, then find the bottle of wine. :)

I hope the rest of your day went better!

thanks all! Yeah it if fine now

I poked the hole on the back fortunately not the front and it is in line with the finish seam I use. so I just sewed over it several times catching all the raw edges and it doesn't look too bad. I doubt anyone but me will notice or think much of it if they do.

In the picture of the hotpad it is the bottom left corner. I don't think it is too noticable. I don't like to send anything that might be weak and come apart down the road for the customer.

on the back where I poked the hole
