When in the grocery store I put my purse in the lower area, not the child seat and I put the child restraint belts through my purse handles - this prevents someone from quickly pulling my purse out of the cart. Too bad that we live in a society that steals from one another. And, with this economy it will probably get worse.

I always buy a purse that has a clip on the strap, when it goes in the shopping cart, the strap goes through the cart several times and then I make sure the clip is under the purse, if someone tries to snatch and run the cart goes too. Learned that in our local market one day, as a lady had her purse secured like that, a kid grabbed and tried to take off but the cart turned over and he just released and ran.
