My first thought was fizzies too. The closest thing to soda back then. On Sundays nights in the fall my mother would pop popcorn and we'd eat it with an apple while we watched Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. They were delicious together. Also, when I was sick, Nestlés Quik always tasted good on my stomach.

Default Nestle's quik.....yummy!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ovaltine! Guess you have to be old as dirt like me to remember that. I loved it! Also, "coffee milk." I would go to my aunt's next door on Saturday or Sunday morning and she would give me "coffee milk" which is delicious! I still love lots of cream in my coffee and all kinds of flavors in it too. I'm a coffee junkie from way back. I too remember Junket ice cream. yum, yum! now I'm starving. I too also loved Nestle's Quik. My youngest called it "bocky" since he couldn't say Chocolate.

For my kids it was '" toast in the oven '". Actually it was bread spread with butter then put under the broiler. To them it was the oven even tho the broiler did the work. Yummy !

This probably sounds wacky but I have always loved fried scrapple with maple syrup. To me, that was always a treat! Strange but true!!!

I loved spending the night with my grandparents because sometimes Grandpa would make us chocolate gravy for our toast.

My treat was a slice of homemade bread in a bowl with a mixture of half coffee and half condensed milk poured over it and then sugar sprinkled on top. I could go for some now.

Yes, I remember Junket. Mum would make it if we had a sore throat but sometimes she just made it as dessert. Not sure if they still make it.

I still buy Ovaltine if I'm having young guests.
I thought my MiL was the only person who made chocolate gravy (I am not a fan, though much of her family is).
Cinnamon toast reminds me of childhood, as does cracked wheat cereal with brown sugar.

Our treat on the farm back home was a cold biscuit (left over from breakfast if we were lucky enough), with a big slab of home-made butter and a spoon full of sugar stuffed in it. Oh yum--maybe I'll go make a pan of biscuits here in a little while.
