I love to bake with my daughter. We made 12 kinds of cookies last Friday. Going to make fudge and Divinity this Friday. These are memories that will last a lifetime. Merry Christmas..

So much work, but well worth it. I love the tamales I can get over the holidays.

It looks fun. It reminds of when I was a kid and we would go to my great aunt's place for Christmas. My aunts and great aunt would make meat and sweet tamales for us to eat on Christmas.

Oh I miss tamales. In Colorado not many know how to make them but used to have a lady at our office who sold them to us. Later went into business for herself. I hope she did well, they were tasty!

I was fortunate to work with a Mexican lady and she kindly taught me -- i was her helper that year. We have already tested the tamales -- very good - we are delivering some to our oldest daughter tonight. Cookie baking tomorrow

There is a restaurant opened on Christmas day in Southern California where people will preorder their tamales for their Christmas dinner.

I ordered some last week at a restaurant called "Senor Tequila". Not my most favorite Mex food but I got all
excited yesterday because I found Christmas Pudding --British Style at " The World Market."
Will serve here with lemon sauce on 25th. Never ate much Mexican food more European style .
Different strokes for different folks.

I make tamales too for the holidays. I think it would be much more fun to have a family member in the kitchen laughing and talking as the process went along. But, I send the biggest part of them to hubby's Christmas pot luck for his guys. They are made from a recipe of a very old lady who was stationed in South America while in the service. She gathered enough recipes for a book and she shared it with me. What a jewel she was.

Before that I used a recipe I got from a better homes and gardens article about a family that made them every year.

Truth be known, I kind of combine those two in such a way that it is my own.

I really am jealous that you have yours finished already. It is really a chore by yourself.
