Both, depending on how much time I had.

I had a few of them. They never fit right and took too long to dry.

She could still use them at home and just use the disposables when she took the baby to day care. That would cut down on the expense considerably.

I've never been a paper anything user. I rarely use paper towels. A roll lasts me months and months. I have a whole stack of old kitchen and bathroom towels that I use to wipe up messes. Then I toss them in the sink in the laundry room and pop them in with the next load of towels. Its easy to do. For me, its easier than taking out a ton of trash.

Times sure have changed since my kids were little. Didn't matter if it was daycare or private babysitting in someone's home, cloth diapers were always accepted.

I practice the same in my home, too, cashs_mom, reusable cloth rags for most everything, paper towels only as a last resort.

I have one bag of trash per month. That is how much I don't like disposable anything.

Some trade-offs are absolutely worth the little extra effort it takes.

I already know I'm not the only one here who experienced cloth diapers before having children, but I was changing diapers (cloth diapers and rubber pants) on baby siblings at age 8, and if I could manage folding and pinning at that age, anyone can do it.

Yes, me too, being the oldest I got plenty of practice with 3 out of 4 siblings. I was not quite 2 when my sister was born, so didn't get to practice on her.

I just made my DD's diapers with whatever flannel I found on sale. I started out making just flat square ones, but eventually figured out how to make them shaped like the prefolded ones. They ended up two layers on each side, and four layers in the center.

Old cloth diapers are "the bomb" for washing windows. I have 8 prefolds from a garage sale and gave one to our SIL and he sent our DD to get him a dozen, that's how much he loved them for windshields.
