I decided I really didn't like the taste of coconut oil on everything.. It's great for taking off make up and leaves you skin feeling great!!

I haven't noticed a taste that is different then regular oil. Are you using the organic expeller pressed for cooking? Organic virgin coconut oil will have a more natural taste that will get overpowering. It isn't made for frying or baking but more for consuming on it's own.

Back in the 60's & 70's my family had the theatre in town, made the best popcorn using coconut oil, bought it by the 5 gallon pail - again, this board helps bring back memories - must be the holiday season getting to me.....

MYWR and others who have switched diets to a less conventional diet, what is a typical day's menu like? I am on a gluten free diet, low carb diet, but use olive oil and I have frequent potatoes and onions. I like them for their versatility and the vitamins they contain. I make my own bread so there are no chemicals and buying gluten free meats usually insures that there are much fewer preservatives in them also. I can't afford organic grown fruits and vegetables so I know I am getting chemicals on the fresh produce, but that's life.
