ok i went to hancocks fabrics and gave them a joann's coupon for my ruler. when i was walking out of the store i didn't see the coupon on the reciept. It was hard for me to watch while she was ringing it up cuz i had both kids with me. i went back in the store and asked about the coupon and she said "oh it didnt' take that off did it?" um... no. so she looked and took the coupon she threw away out of the GARBAGE! She knew it didn't go thru and threw it away. She then said "this is a Joann's coupon" and I said "i know, you take those" she then said. oh ok... and gave me $3 back. I'm so tired of sales people not knowing how to do their job. I know it was only $3 but man that's money!

Coupons are so important to us quilters. LOL. Shame on her. But I do notice that some throw coupons away as soon as they ring them up. With the computer reading it all now, they don't have to turn them in. Never having worked where you take coupons, I don't know. I agree, some people just don't respect their jobs. To them it's just a job. SO sad. Hope our standards come back soon. Otherwise , we're all in trouble. LOL. I always watch them on sales prices and coupons, etc. Better safe than sorry. Glad you got the money back.

I've had the same experience. Now, I try not to leave the store until I've read the receipt. Recently, I had an Ace Hardware Rewards coupon for $5.00. Fine print said you had to spend $25.00. Well, the items rang up a few pennies short of the $25.00, so she (without telling me) charged me $1.00 for a "fastener" that I had not purchased. I went back to the store & picked up a light switch & said I want to exchange this for the "fastener" that I was charged for but did not get.

some stores you really have to watch them. On my last trip to the grocery store several items rang up at a different price than the shelf tag and they missed bagging one of my items, which I did not notice till I got home. I complained on their website and they are sending me a $10 gift card!!

I'm so glad you called her on it! It's not right for them to play dumb when you were just trying to follow their coupon policy!

I had the opposite happen. I stopped by Joann's for a chalk refill, $2.99 or less. I didn't take a coupon with me but the cashier reached in her trash and pulled one out and rang it with my order. 40% off $2.99--cool.

we have some good sales ppl at our local Joanns' ( only place to shop for fabrics around here) and we have some poor excuse for sales ppl at our Joanns..... I've had some argue about coupons or the price of an item, then the good ones will find me a coupon that I either forgot to bring with me or didnt see. If there is more than one sales person, I try to go to the tried and true, trusted sales person.. they freq do " employee of the month" I stuff the ballot box with the good sales persons name!!
