Directv here for 10 years and we are happy. As an earlier poster stated, sometimes when storms come through we lose reception for a few minutes, but it soon restores itself. If the storm big enough to block the satellite, it's usually more interesting to watch than what's on tv anyway!
When we first switched from cable to satellite, my husband took the cable box down to the office to return it. He said there were about 20 people standing in line, all except one guy turning in their cable boxes because they were upgrading to satellite. The one guy was bummed because he was renting a house and his landlord refused to upgrade, lol.

I have cable and my neighbor has Direct TV. I had thought about switching and asked my neighbor how they liked it. They said they had issues on windy or stormy days getting a signal to be contast, they said the only advantage was the price.

We've had DirecTV for a couple of years now. Only a couple of dollars more then we were paying for Cable. I hear Cable went up very high! My hubby wanted the horse racing channel and that was an extra charge with Cable. We have 5 acres with only a couple of trees so have no problem with reception and the dish in on the end of our deck so if it gets blocked with snow we only have to sweep it off. Plus they have free movie channels every couple of months and my hubby has a DVD recorder! Get a few movies now and then! LOL Very happy with Direct.

We've had Directtv for a year or so now. We switched because cable had gotten so expensive, and there was a really good deal on the basic DirectTv package. My husband really likes it -- so many sports and news channels. There are also a lot of junk channels.

I have only had a problem one time in three years due to the weather. I took a broom and swept the snow off of the receiver and that took care of it.

I switched to Direct TV six years ago and do not intend to ever leave them. I don't have near the problems I had with cable. And their customer service is EXCELLENT!!!......In my opinion you can't go wrong changing to Direct TV

We have Direct TV and have no problems. O, it goes off in thunderstorms, but I guess that's because the signal gets disrupted by clouds and rain. We watch network TV for our special shows like NCIS and CSI, but the Direct TV the rest of the time. I'd hate to have to give it up.
Also, we have two receivers. We have one package deal which is with one receiver, and the second receiver (in my sewing room) only costs $5 more a month and gets all the same channels.

Very satisfied with Direct TV. If there is a problem it is corrected within minutes, no waiting for a repairman to come by.
Never had anyone ask any personal information at all. We probably won't be changing any time in the near future.

We have had Direct tv for a real long time and have always been happy with the service. The only thing about any service is that there isn't much on that is any good. So very tired of reality shows. We used to have Starz movie channels, but they keep showing and reshowing movies so many times and hardly any new ones on. We dropped that. If we want a movie we do Paid Preview.
