    i would miss it.... didn't have one for a while, dh bought it before our son was born in 2006, helped with bottles and such....
    if it broke i would replace it..

    When we bought our first house, they had just installed a new dishwasher, and in 16 years, we used it 3 times, maybe. In my opinion, they're a total waste of money.

    I have always replaced broken ones or installed one when with out, and also told DH that when he renovated the kitchen before we were married to include one. Cuts down on transfer of germs as most people do not use a three sink method to properly wash dishes and leaves more time for family and sewing!

    At my house that would be an emergency. I can't live w/o my DW! I'd rather clean toilets with my bare hands than wash dishes by hand.

    Ask me how I really feel abt it!!!!!!!

    I think dishwashers are supposed to use less water than handwashing - well, if the dishwasher is full when you use it. But there is something about hand washing dishes. We don't have one at the family cottage and it can get a bit much when we have tons of company but on the other hand, I can always tell who the generous guests are by who offers to help dry the dishes.

    We kid that we built a new house around the dishwasher that my husband bought me as a present. Seriously though, it is THE BEST INVENTION EVER! What a waste of time standing there at the sink wading through all those dishes every night. And what a waste of time arguing and battling with the kids every night to do the dishes or load the dishwasher. Everyone in the house has been "trained" to rinse the dishes and set them aside. Then I load it which takes minutes and then they're done.

    I don't go down to the river either and beat the clothes clean on a rock. ;)

    Lol- never said I didn't like my clothes washer !! :lol: :lol:
    BUT I do love my clothesline- omg that's my favorite chore!
    Wish we had more days to use it. Maybe I was a pioneer in a different life haha
