We used to have a Rottweiler that did the same thing. I also had a Dachshund who prefered the floor.

My 9 year old weighs as much as Mortimer did when you got him!! I'll bet Jake isn't as big as Mortimer's head!

Wow, poor husband. Our great dane weighed 140 lbs when she finally matured. I used to yell at her to get our smaller dogs head out of her mouth. Poor little guy was covered in dog slobber but he didn't seems to mind.
