Certainly...the speakers you put in your window at the drive in 'movies' for sound. My 1st date with DH was at a drive in 'movie'. I questioned why he did not put on the emergency brake since we had to park on such a slope to see the 'movie'. Needless to say, the car rolled backwards (with speaker attached) and the back window went too. 1973...back window, in a 4 door car??? Do you think he had ideas? Still married after 38 years! LOL

Lol hope this doesn't make you feel old... my parents had a Dodge van outfitted with a canvas bunk bed in the back for camping trips. I slept on the top bunk, my older brother slept on the bottom bunk, my youngest brother slept on the back seat, and my parents slept on the floor in the back next to the bunks. In the early years, they couldn't afford a babysitter, so they'd put us to bed in the back of the van and go to the drive-in movies. My dad installed a clothesline with dark curtains right behind the front seats. We could still hear the movie, though, and I got very good at surreptitiously peeking over the clothesline. Ah, memories!

Loved to go to the drive-in! Didn't get to go very often since they let out so much later - but a group of us would go and have a great time. In fact, my husband proposed to me at the drive-in. When he went to the drive-in it was to watch the movie. That was June 3, 1972.

Definitely....an old neighbour/friend used to (and probably still does) own the only drive-in movie theatre left in our state.

Oh the excitement of going to a drive in movie as a child. We still have one close.

We still have a Drive-in in the next town over. Took my grandkids and they could not believe you could sit in your car and watch the movie. "How old timey." I love it. I go in my PJs and then come home and craw into bed.

A town near us has a combination Drive-In and Motel. Yes you can watch and hear the movie from your motel room!!

I miss our drive-in. We didn't have the speakers, though, you just tuned the car radio to the theater's frequency for the screen you were at.
