I collect them. Sometimes the guild or organization that sponsors a quilt show has them available for purchase. A couple of the quilt shows that I attend has them made up with the year of the show on the pin so I like to get one every year. I put them on a bag that I keep my stuff in for hand applique. They usually cost about five bucks each.

I started collecting them, but didn't intend to. I was putting them on my guild name tag, then quit the guild! But recently I saw a cute idea for displaying them. This woman made a small checkerboard-type quilt--simple. Then she put a pin in the center of each square. Now i'm going to do the same thing!

These are really cute. Don't think they have the right name on the Monkey Wrench though. We collect railroad pins. I have them attached to a long piece of grograin ribbon. At the top I sewed a gold half ring and then hung on the wall. I have my collection of Apollo patches done the same way.

that's such a cute idea. I don't belong to a guild (went to one meeting and was told I was "too young" to take quilting seriously) so I don't have any from there.

Might have to buy a few though! They seem so cool!

I think they mean more when someone special has given them to you. I would buy them to give away before I would keep for myself. It just has more sentimental meaning and value that way…. don't you think

I have a bunch of them from quilt stores and shows i have attended. I put them on my badge for quild. Its just fun to collect them. I have two or three that are my longarm quilting machine and I just think its a great way to remember the shows and such.
