We bought it and absolutely love it. We took it to our son in England and now we can call him and he can call us anytime he wants to. It has saved us tons of money over the last 4 years.
We are now thinking of getting a second one to replace our landline.
Have never had any trouble with it cutting out or a bad reception.
Never heard anything about the drug dealers getting our number and using it---never rec'd a bill except for the annual fee.

I have MAGIC JACK, for that price who cares if i have a little trouble which i never have. I love it. I have a Cell phone that is my main line then i got MJ so i use it also , I tell everyone if they can not reach me on house phone (MJ) call me on the cell . If at night i want to turn off the computer i just use the cell phone everyone know to just call me on the cell number anyway. My important calls i always give my cell number . Again i love Magic Jack.

My husband and I use only our cell phones He has his, I have mine. We use Skype video calling to talk to our daughter in NC so we can see our grandson. He knows our voices and faces .... that's exciting to me!! Don't know anything about Magic Jack. Is it just another internet calling service? Vonage is that, also.

I have MJ and haven't had any problems with it, but it's more a second line. I have even faxed through it. But the disadvantage is (as it is with any of the digital cable/computer-linked services) that if you don't have power, you don't have a phone. I have never given anyone the number to call me on, since it is a "backup" but as I said, it's worked great for me!
