Does Quilt Making Take More Time/Energy As You Get Older?

So I wonder if we can tell age by attitude toward pre-cuts? I'm *almost* 40, and I *almost* don't buy pre-cuts. LOL!!

I've actually found as I age that I'm doing less complicated quilts. Did all the fancy ones when I was younger. Now, I just want something to pass the time and still be useful.
And I've never bought pre-cuts. Neither have I sent out my quilting to be done. I do it all on my sewing machine myself. Not easy and maybe not perfect, but it's all my labors.

But now at 77, EVERYTHING seems to be more difficult & take longer . It's 'ain't easy getting old!!! :XD:
Have a blessed day & may all your quilts be filled w/love.

well, I have 'birthday disease' and I don't buy precuts...
what I have FINALLY discovered is paper piecing (doing a New York Beauty) and I LOVE it...
The beauty of paper piecing is NOT having to have precise cuts, you can just sit and sew and press (I have a big area and just lean to the side to press)...
In fact, I ordered all the Sew Precise Foundation piecing CDs on sale at EQ!!...

I am only 47 but yesterday I was thinking how much more effort it takes me to concentrated on directions and how many more mistakes I make compared to about 8 years ago. I also already have many joint issues for years already. I break up my activities so I have less fatigue. Good excuse for having many projects going on at the same time. Maybe a kind friend can help with some of the jobs that are more challenging like the cutting.
