Now the travel bug has hit me again! One of my biggest disappointments is that I have never been out west! I love our country but just never had the chance to see much of it. You have had some great experiences, and I'm delighted that you shared them with us!

I bet you have a novel in your head & your heart. Why don't you think about writing a book. Find a young writer to collaborate! Your stories are great!

I agree that you need to write a book. I so enjoyed reading your story.

thanks so much. And I was afraid to bore you

this picture I have on the pinboard of my sewing room. My sewing machine was the only personal thing next to my cloth that I took with me. It shows our children on their first halloween. Nobody told me that costumes at halloween have to look somehow scary........

What wonderful memories you have, and such a way of telling your stories! You should definitely write these down, if not for others, at least for your children and grandchildren. Wish my parents and grandparents had written down all their stories.
Glad you enjoyed the USA, would love to take long trips like that and see the whole thing!

Oh, and how cute your kids are! Not true that costumes need to be scary!

Thanks for sharing your stories, it makes you stop and think about everything and we do have a wonderful country and I am proud to be an American.

Thanks you so much for posting. You've just confirmed everything for me and fuelled my desire to have six months in America.

It'll take some planning, we're tied here in France for the moment, but at the first opportunity I'll be USA bound.

I've always wanted to go to a Boston Red Sox game so my mantra for the last year has been, "Make it Happen".

I don't want to end up in the home for the terminally bewildered, knowing that I hadn't done it and wishing I had.
