I am so glad no lives were lost, you can replace almost anything but not lives. I hope it wont be too long before you are all back to normal.

Gal and mammahc - So relieved to hear that you and yours are ok....shaken, bruised, but in one piece. I can't imagine going through something like that! It must be totally disorienting and frightening.

Will continue to offer up prayers of thanksgiving for your safety and prayers for your continued safety and strength as you as you work on getting your lives back to normal.

Thanks for checking in with us Gal! I had forgotten that it's your cold season now - it was 104*F (40*C) here yesterday. I'm glad that you're OK, if a bit battered & bruised. Please keep us updated & if there is anything we can do....

Your description is absolutely frightening, but I'm glad you have no premanent injuries! I wish we could all be there to help you with the aftermath clean-up.

I am so glad you came through it mainly intact. From what they are saying on tv, it has opened a new fault line under the ocean, too. I've always wanted to see NZ - the pictures intrigue me.

It sure is nice to hear from a few of you that had to deal with the quake. I am glad you all are ok. Thank you for checking in with us who have been worried about you and your families.
