They are beautiful. My DH's Mother and GM crocheted as well. Can remember my Mother starching these beautiful pieces to set lamps on...they were big and rufflely (sp?).

Wow, she was a master of the art! I can do granny squares in cotton with a fairly large hook, but that's it!

Oh how pretty. My mother was a master crocheter too - I only have just some basic doilies from her but she did all those frilly, ruffled edges that you had to starch so they would stand up. I wonder what happened to them but something makes me think that she probably sold them in a yard sale or something. Oh well - we all have our own memories.
