Both seem like too much work for towels that really get used in my kitchen.....along with the whole one I have nearest the sink draped over a ceramic duck head...made by me in a past hobby life, I have two of those half towels strategically placed attached to cabinet handles...one near stove, other under working counter, but I have crocheted across cut edge, worked up a double crochet, folded over handle and attached button......much faster for me that those shown.....

I use a (bought) hot pad and t-towel. Fold your hot pad with the hanging loop at the top, and mark the fold line. Take the t-towel and fold in sides to fit the fold line on the hot pad. Find the center of the t-towel and lay the center marked line on the hot pad on the center of the t-towel, and sew. On the opposite side of the hot pad, sew a button. To hang, put hot pad on oven handle and button it on!
This is real easy and I make a lot for the church bazaar.
