I love your pillow cover. When I tried the color crayon technique in a class, we found we could get darker more vivid colors by ironing out the crayon the first time, and then coloring the same places a second time, and ironing again. This might be what you are looking for to brighten your colors? (You can even do your coloring in layers to get highlighting colors too)

Thanks Madame, you are right about building layers up to get a bold colour but I wanted something subtle. I ŵould like a bigger set (I only had the 24 set)so that I could do more shading etc

Walmart has the boxes of 72 colors for not much now that they have the “back to school” sales going.

I am hoping the UK will do similar reductions although crayons are not that popular for back to school... I did pick up a huge box of sharpies for a bargain price though to try the sharpies and alcohol technique!
