Did the needle only bend, or did it break? If it broke, try to find the pieces to be sure there isn't one lodged in your finger.

Good work on not getting blood on the quilt ;)

I feel your pain!! I am sure you washed it well, put antiseptic on it, bandaged it up and are probably sewing again (smile). Quilters are resilient.

The good thing is you only have to make this mistake once. You are so careful to make sure that your fingers stay out of the way. Watch for infection. I think tetanus shots are good now for 10 years. Here's to hoping that you feel better soon.

My husband cut his finger tip off and the way the cut was it wasnt healing and stitches wouldnt hold the cut together, The Doctor I worked with told me to have him soak it in Dawn dish soap and hot water twice a day. (and while soaking have him do the dishes too :)) It healed up in no time... so do soak it in warm soapy water it works wonders. Hope it gets better soon!

Thanks for the tip, I will be sure to soak it, just as long as I don't have to do dishes too. LOL

Well, it was borderline for stitches so I let it bleed good, then cleaned it and bandaged it up. Couldn't stand the idea of going to the ER on a weekend, LOL.
I was a nurse in my previous life so I think it will be fine. The edges are staying together well so far.
Ha-ha! Was also a nurse in my previous life! I will do anything to avoid the ER! Will take care of self and kids, or call in a favor to be direct admitted!

Glad you seem ok and quilt is safe! Remember, use peroxide if you get blood on it! Binds to iron in blood and helped me several times!
