Put your fish oil capsules in the refrigerator. That will help with the burping fish problem.

My husband and I take Fish, Flaxseed and Borage Oil (Omega 3,6,9). Spring Valley brand from Wal-mart. We also grind flaxseed and add it to foods.

Our Dr. told us to go to Sam's for fish oil, and recommended the enteric coated type. It is no more expensive than the uncoated. My DH and I take it to help with cholesterol. I hadn't heard it helped with blood pressure. Good to know!

I take 2 Costco Kirkland softgels per day. Dr. recommendation for lowering triglycerides and relieving inflammation from osteoarthritis in my hands. Be sure to buy their Enteric Coated to avoid that fishy aftertaste.

I realize this topic is a couple of years old but I wanted to share something about fish oil with everyone.
I have peripheral arterial disease. Meaning my arteries are getting clogged up with plaque and cholesterol. My doctor sent me to a specialist because with all his attempts he could not get my cholesterol levels down no matter what he tried. I tried all natural at first and my cholesterol level just went even higher.
I was taking Carlson's lemon flavored Super Omega Fish Oil, 1 Tablespoon in the morning and 1 in the evening. I was taking it for degenerative disc disease and a form of inflammatory arthritis and it definitely helped me so much. But...the doctor told me that fish oil is still a form of saturated fat and he had me stop taking it due to it contributing to the build up in the arteries. I have had a couple of images that show the build up in the arteries so I know I had to do something different. I take Lovaza which is prescription strength omega 3's without the problem of the oil. I have to say it does not work quite as well as the oil but it is better than nothing. So I thought many of you might think it is helping your heart but you might want to do more investigating into the saturated fat consideration. I am happy to answer any questions. Cynthia

I take fish oil. My doctor told me not to buy the big bulk bottle from Costco because fish oil loses it potency quickly.

I take it for migraines. It helps a lot with them, when I take them regularly.

If you keep it stored in the refrigerator it will last much longer. It will congeal a little but it won't hurt it.
