OH, too many dogs too many glasses of wine, I will take one more of each, please! Wine and dogs! Love 'em! Send the cats to Marsye, her hubby needs them to sleep.

Seeing all of our lovely fur babies and how much they are loved and how much they love all of us, really makes me think about my Sis and BIL right now.

They are putting their sweet 14 year old Millie down tomorrow morning. Please say a prayer for my sis, bil, and Millie. Also her buddy Bandit will really miss her, they have been attached at the hip since my sister rescued him as a pup 5 years ago.

I have a 15 year old Maltese I have been thinking about putting down. I just don't have the heart to do it. She is fine other than some vision and hearing problems and the worst problem of all is her using the house to pee and poop. I can have her outside 15 minutes and she does not go, then as soon as she is in the house she piddles or poops. Some days are better and some days are bad. I just don't know what to do. She does hold her bladder all night. I do have a puppy paper in the Master bathroom in case she does get up at nite and I don't hear her. She also has this other problem of licking everything. It almost drives us crazy sometimes. I usually put earplugs in at nite so I don't hear her, or I wouldn't get any sleep. Somedays it is worse than others. Any suggestions? How long do I wait until I make that decision. Any Advice???

This is my love, Kara Jayne. She's a 2 yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I'm at work, otherwise I would post a clearer picture of her. This one I spiffed up on Picnik.com.

It is such a hard decision. We had to put our Mallipoo down many years ago and we probably waited too long because it was so hard. But the main thing for us? Was she in pain and possibly suffering. And pain can be from dehydration or not eating and starving. If your little Maltese still seems content and happy can you confine her to a smaller place. If she has a licking problem and hasn't always had that, I would take her to the vet, ours also did that, but it was an alergy.

Don't know that I am much help. I will say sometimes it is hard to see if they are suffering, because their whole life is all about pleasing us.

It's never easy to lose a pet. I've gone through that too. Here is something that may help......

"If it should be that I grow frail and weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done, for this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand, but don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest, your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years, you wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend, only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree, it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you, who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years, don't let your heart hold any tears."

Prayers with you....
