It's pretty cool....maybe a fun one to take to classes! But, they are so wrong in their article. It says most folks just use their machine to patch or occasional sewing. They don't know US! I think my sewing machine is the most used appliance in my home (with a close tie of the television that's in my sewing room)!

Guess it hasn't taken off since this was back in 2005 and the article was in 2011. I would love to see it in action. It does look ideal for some of the small units people are living in now. It is not intended to replace a sewing machine, just an alternative to use for light sewing and mending.

Not only the bobbin but where does the thread go? i'll stick with what I'm using unless something better comes along that I absolutely have to have. How heavy is it? Is it going to bounce all over the place.

As stated, article is from 2011, on prototype of 2005 ish.....seems like it never took off. I really don't see where there would be a demand for a machine that merely mends or does buttons......but times they are a changin'....there was a time when I thought a sewing machine was a given in every household....now in some abodes...kitchen is only there because it came with the house...and look what our phones do now!

Isn't that the truth? It would never occur to some to hem their own clothes?

The first thing the description says is that people don't sit at a machine for hours. Boy, they sure did not intend this to be for quilters!!!

I did not read the entire article, just looked at photos. Intriguing. Depending on cost I might want one just for the novelty of it. Not sure it would replace any of my other newer and/or vintage machines though.
