Gender Reveal parties????

Yup, my niece got tons of cute little pink things at her shower for the little girl who turned out to be a rather big boy. She thought the doctor was kidding in the delivery room. That was a few years ago, maybe the ultrasounds are much better today.

My Mother could always tell the gender of the babies. My Doctors would never tell us, I was pregnant in the 70's.
For some reason, she could tell by looking, how they were carrying the baby. She could tell any pregnant person what the sex of their babies were, she was never wrong.

I think they're a good idea. A friend of mine whose daughter and son-in-law is expecting in the fall had one. They only had (of course) their parents and those very close friends who were in their bridal party. I see nothing wrong with it. What could be more exciting than celebrating the birth of a loved one.

My kids had a party to reveal the gender of our first grandchild. There were no gifts involved, just food and fun. They cut into the frosted cake to reveal a pink cake under the frosting. It was a wonderful, happy time.

I agree, I see nothing wrong with them. Sonograms are not always for the tech to tell, but they are usually correct.

I guess everyone has their own ideas - I prefer to find out when the baby is born - One of my friends had her husband, inlaws, and parents at the ultrasound to find out the sex - they wanted a boy so bad. They were disappointed to find out they were having a girl. When you wait to find out you are just happy they are finally here and healthy!

I too was thinking something different when I read the topic. I've been avoiding clicking on this all day and then decided what the heck.
I have 4 boys and one daughter. My first 3 sons they didn't have ultrasounds, my 4th son I knew he would be another boy. I was glad because I had wanted a girl so badly that it gave me time to adjust and be grateful for the child I had no matter what it was. Now my daughter, I had several ultra sounds and none of them would show me the gender. Even the one they did hours before inducing labor so I was shocked when I had a girl. Very happy and shocked. The nurses had kept saying will the heart rate is fast like a boy but I told her I had 4 boys and they were all different from time of conception till their birth so I wasn't listening to any of them. My daughter had ultra sounds the new 4D and 3D and you could tell on her daughters ultrasound that she looked just like her mama. She's over two now and still looks and acts like her mom. I now have a few more grandkids on the way and will be looking forward to them no matter what they are but i like knowing because it allows me to plan for them.
Whew! I'm glad this wasn't what I thought it was about in the beginning.
