Great story, but what's your source? It only says "posted in Alaska." Why do I have the feeling this is something circulating on the web & via email and will turn up on snopes.com sooner or later?

Thanks for the research, Dee! It's a great story, and so much better for being true. Sorry I didn't see your post sooner.

The only thing that bothers me is the assumption people have that old means unable to do anything. It just shouldn't be so surprising that a group of guys - of any age - pulled off what they did. Then again, in this era of couch potatoes and people not wanting to get involved, maybe it's surprising at any age.

This happened 15 mi from me. The RVers were out of their MHs ooohhing and awwing at the scene before them high on a hill. This is a true story. We also had a problem with some young people robbing houses in my area last winter. A vigilante was formed and they caught the kids. People know they have to take matters into their own hands.
