Default graduation question

My grand daughter is graduating from nursing school next saturday. I've not got her anything yet and I have already made her two quilts; one when she graduated from high school (about 10 yrs ago) and one for her wedding. She will not be "pinned" until August, and she emphasized that would be the most important. So, am debating on what to give her and when. Any thoughts on what to give her? She just called this morning and asked if I was still coming to her graduation (of course I am) and that they were having a little get together after ceremony. She has worked for yrs to get to where she is today (and also gone to school). Thoughts/suggestions? Thanks for responses.

Good idea! I just made the Professional Tote. It's a great bag with zipper pockets and lots of detail work

There are some great nurse-related panels and fabrics. Nifty Nurses by Loralie is one. I made my DDIL a throw quilt from it when she graduated with her nursing degree. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nifty-Nurse...-/401485153573

I think a tote is a great idea! Maybe in a nurse themed fabric as Dunster suggested?

Voila! Problem solved.

I think money would be most welcome if she has debt.

tons of cute fabrics for scrubs too. The medical staff around here have tops for every season and celebration. Very cheerful for the patients!

I agree, money always fits, put a five or a fifty or whatever in the pocket of each top. A fun surprise for when she finds them.

I've seen scrunchys that fit a stethoscope too, and neat lanyards.

Money would be a good idea. She can pay off debt or buy whatever she needs for her new job. Some places have a dress code. One of my local hospital requires that scrubs be a certain color depending on the job.

Hold off on the scrubs until you know whether she is required to wear a certain color for her job--many hospitals do that. I work at a Medical Center (not in nursing!) and see many nurses carrying a tote for their "extras"--scrubs (sometimes they get blood, etc on their uniforms and need to change); lunch, etc. there are also some cute printed nursing sayings, etc on fabrics and that would make a cute tote or wallhanging.

Also--a gift card for a pedicure or a massage would be nice--nurses have a very physically demanding job and welcome both!

My DD was a veterinary assistant. She had a medical tool belt she loved. Kept everything she needed right at hand.
